Ephesians 4:29
Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.
There was a couple who had been married for 20 years. They had two children and were living a happy life. However, they started to drift apart because they stopped communicating with each other. They would come home from work and go straight to bed without talking. They would eat dinner in silence and watch TV without saying a word.
One day, the wife decided that she had enough of this and decided to talk to her husband. She told him how she felt and how she missed the way things used to be. The husband listened and realized that he had been neglecting his wife. He apologized and promised to make things right.
From that day on, they made an effort to communicate with each other every day. They would talk about their day, their hopes, their dreams, and their fears. They would listen to each other and support each other.
Their marriage became stronger than ever before because they realized that communication is key in a marriage. Without communication, they would have continued to drift apart until it was too late.
